Summer camp is a way of life for kids, teenagers, and young adults. You have all being to one at some point or the other. It is a supervised program which many schools conduct. For some schools, it is a fixed curriculum. You might yourself attend one or arrange one for your children. You might be in a dilemma as to what to pack and what not to. Preparing the list of essential things for your child to carry on their camp can be a big task.
Things get easier now with the packing list you are about to get. You will never want to receive a call from camp, saying that your child or ward has forgotten to pack in something meaningful. Now you need not worry about your child’s packing list for the field. The best way, you can draw up a list, is by categorizing.
Breaking Up the List of Essentials
You can divide the items that you need to pack for your child’s camp into six different categories that include headgear, clothing, toiletries, footwear, bedding, and other miscellaneous items. The helmet should consist of headbands, hats, bandanas, hair bands, and stuff. They should serve the purpose of keeping the hair off the face. Hats are an essential part of camp packable to protect your child from the sun’s harmful rays. It would be best if you also packed in their glasses accordingly.
If your kid is taking part in water activities and night activities, goggles and headlamps become all the more critical. Bedding is something. You cannot forget it. The bedding package includes mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, blankets, and a sleeping bag. It would be best if you also packed in a variety of clothing, like jackets, jeans, sweatshirts, raincoats, swimming costumes, tank tops, and underwear.
Items Without Which the Summer Camp is a Total Washout
You cannot forget footwear, toiletries, and other miscellaneous items. It would help if you packed in boots, crocs, sandals, sneakers, and not to forget the socks. It would be best if you perpetually stuffed in several extras. Now, toiletries are an indispensable part of the lot. Your child’s toiletry item list should include insect repellents, baby powder, comb, deodorant, lip balm, sunscreens, medicines, toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps, bandages, hand wash, to name a few. This is not all, as there are a hundred things your child might need.
The list is merely exhaustive. However, you need to square in on one. Books, magazines, cameras, a fishing rod, batteries, torches, paper, pencil, phones also make up an essential part of the packing list. You cannot simply forget them. All of a sudden, you might realize that you forgot to pack in something important for your child. So, please jot all of these down. It will merely make your task easy. Your child deserves your ultimate attention when he is going off to a camp. Reaching the field and then realizing that certain things are missing from his bag will not have a favorable impression on his teachers. He might be gazing upon as “dis-organized.” It will hurt him.
